ARBI, a charitable organization in Calgary, is dedicated to transforming the lives of adults impacted by acquired brain injury. Through comprehensive neurorehabilitation, wellness services, and recreation programs, ARBI empowers survivors to achieve their fullest potential and thrive in their journey toward recovery.
Blue Heron Support Services Association (BHSSA) offers support to individuals with developmental, physical, sensory, brain injury or other disabilities in developing personal strengths in all areas of life as members of the community. BHSSA offers programs and services across northern Alberta, with our main office located in Barrhead and additional offices in Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Peace River and Slave Lake. BHSSA has been a part of the Alberta Brain Injury Initiative since 2002 and provides a variety of programs and services to individuals with an acquired brain injury and their families/caregivers.
Brain Care Centre offers community based rehabilitation services and support for adults with brain injuries in the Edmonton area, Edson, Jasper, Hinton and Drayton Valley.
Service Coordination and Supports for Community Living programs offered throughout the Central Alberta Region to support individuals and their families after an acquired brain injury.
Skills Society is a not-for-profit organization that provides support services to children and adults with developmental disabilities, survivors of brain injuries, and their families. For some, this may involve a few hours of outreach support each week. For others, it involves 24/7 supported community living. No matter the need, our work is rooted in providing people with disabilities with the same opportunities and choices, the same ability to share their gifts and talents, and the same sense of belonging that we all enjoy.
SABIS is a registered nonprofit dedicated to supporting brain injury survivors and their supporters access to necessary services and resources to live as independently as possible in the community. SABIS provides non-medical services to SABIS clients and their supporters.
Since 1985, URSA, a non-profit charitable organization, has provided services to seniors, adults and children with developmental disabilities and brain injury survivors. We continue to focus on breaking down a multitude of barriers for these individuals to help them thrive in the community. URSA has a variety of programs ranging from 10 hours a week in-home support to 24-hour staffed residences and a variety of day programs. URSA has over 20 sites across the city and we provide services to 300 individuals annually.
The WJS ABI program provides personal, one-on-one supports to adults living with acquired brain injuries. We help them build independence, improve quality of life and increase participation in the community. We help individuals set goals and achieve them, while meeting their changing needs along the way.
